Details of the first series that Marvel Studios will be making for Disney’s streaming service have been released and ‘The Vision and Scarlet Witch’ is hoping to have Paul Bettany and Elizabeth Olsen in the lead roles.
Writing the series for Disney+ will be Jac Schaeffer, who is part of the writing team for upcoming blockbter, Captain Marvel.
Sources have told Hollywood Reporter that she will write the pilot and also executive produce the action series that will foc on two integral members of the Avengers.
Sorry for Your Loss?will return for a second season. Facebook Watch has given the critically acclaimed drama a renewal order for season two, with the renewal coming hot on the heels of the show¡¯s star, Elizabeth Olsen, picking up a?Critics¡¯ Choice Awards?nomination in the Best Actress in a Dramatic Series category.
Sorry for Your Loss?premiered at the 2018 Toronto International Film Festival where it received a warm reception from critics. The series currently sits at 96% fresh on?Rotten Tomatoes. Pl, the original drama made The New York Times, The Atlantic, and New York Magazine¡¯s best series of 2018 lists.
Award-winning playwright Kit Steinkellner created the series and James Ponsoldt (The Spectacular Now) directed multiple episodes of the show¡¯s first season.
In addition to Elizabeth Olsen (Avengers: Infinity War), the cast of season two includes Kelly Marie Tran (Star Wars: Episode VIII ¨C The Last Jedi), Mamoudou Athie (The Front Runner), Jovan Adepo (The Leftovers), and two-time Oscar nominee Janet McTeer (Tumbleweeds, Albert Nobbs). Olsen serves as an executive producer along with Kit Steinkellner, James Ponsoldt, Robin Schwartz, Marc Turtletaub, Peter Saraf, Cynthia Pett, Brad Petrigala, and Jon Liebman. Big Beach produced the series.
¡°Everyone involved in this project put their hearts on the screen. Kit Steinkellner created an honest and vibrant world anchored by James Ponsoldt¡¯s accomplished direction and Elizabeth Olsen¡¯s superlative and deeply affecting performance. I was moved and surprised by the immediate outpouring of empathy that the show created on this budding streaming service and I look forward to providing more space for these important conversations during season 2,¡± said Big Beach TV¡¯s Robin Schwartz.
It’s widely understood that those bearing the last name Olsen will have some serio, genetically-blessed lengths. And for Hollywood royalty Elizabeth Olsen, and her new set of wispy bangs, the saying could not be more true.
Stepping out this weekend in Beverly Hills to celebrate the holidays with Brooks Brothers, the actress showed off her recently-chopped blonde fringe. Paired with a French girl-approved two piece suit and a swirl of rose-colored cream blh, Olsen’s piece-y strands, honeyed and hitting past the upper lash line, took their mark center stage.
The?Avengers?star joins the ranks of banged beauties who have fastened themselves a wispy new set this year, including singer?Selena Gomez?and model?Bella Hadid, the latter having famoly taken the style for a test run on Instagram. And while the actress is no stranger to beauty transformations¡ªshe’s experimented with darker roots and neck-revealing bobs¡ªOlsen’s new look holds a striking resemblance to her two older designer siblings, Mary Kate and Ashley. With 2019 quickly approaching, consider this a lesson in new year beauty resolutions.
Marvel fans lost their minds when it was reported last month that Loki and Scarlet Witch TV series were being developed for Disney¡¯s upcoming streaming service. Falling under the purview of Marvel Studios¡¯ Kevin Feige, these will tie directly into the films, with the likes of Tom Hiddleston and Elizabeth Olsen set to reprise their roles.
Pl, it¡¯s jt been revealed that Paul Bettany is likely set to return as Vision in Scarlet Witch¡¯s solo venture. This makes a lot of sense for anyone who¡¯s seen Avengers: Infinity War. After all, Wanda Maximoff and the android had fallen hard for each other since we last saw them and though they¡¯re both currently dead, we¡¯d expect this romance to continue once they¡¯ve been resurrected in Avengers 4.
If the Wanda/Vision love story will be the backbone of the Scarlet Witch show, then, could it be drawing a certain amount of inspiration from the Hoe of M storyline? Though we can¡¯t see the reality-warping part of the comic book event being tackled, the central idea of having Wanda¡¯s life unravel would make for a great miniseries. In the comic, she es her powers to effectively dream up a happy life, including two children with Vis. However, the illion can¡¯t last and she loses her grip on reality when she realizes it¡¯s all fake.
It¡¯s not jt fans who¡¯d like to see the show adapt Hoe of M, either, as Olsen herself has said that she ¡°would love¡± to address the storyline within the MCU. She smartly made the point at the time that all the X-Men stuff would have to be removed, but even that might not be an obstacle anymore as Disney will soon get its paws on the X-Men universe through its purchase of Fox.
On the heels of yesterday¡¯s news that Disney¡¯s upcoming streaming service would be featuring a Winter Soldier/Falcon-foced limited TV series, it looks like the previoly announced Scarlet Witch standalone series will be a two-hander. Longtime MCU player Paul Bettany, who has been the voice of JARVIS since 2008¡¯s Iron Man before getting to appear on screen in the artificial flesh as the superheroic android Vision, is now expected to join Elizabeth Olsen in the streaming series.
/Film reports that Bettany will have a significant part to play in the Scarlet Witch limited series in a narrative that will likely foc on the relationship between Vision and Wanda Maximoff before the arrival of Thanos and his dty fingers. Like the Tom Hiddleston-starring Loki series and the previoly mentioned Winter Soldier/Falcon show, Scarlet Witch is expected to be six to eight episodes long and won¡¯t be connected to either the Netflix Marvel TV universe or that of Disney¡¯s broadcast banner, ABC. Production of the streaming series will be handled by Marvel Studios and not Marvel Television, bringing blockbter-like budgets to each foced, limited season.
Not much more information is available on any of the MCU TV series, except for the fact that Empire writer Malcolm Spellman will write the limited series centering on Falcon and Winter Solidier. We should expect further confirmation from Disney proper once they¡¯ve got their marketing machine all revved up and ready to go with official cast confirmations, title reveals, release dates, and more. Disney¡¯s not alone in trying to get their many-headed streaming service up and available to the masses, but they might jt be the furthest along the track in the quest to dethrone Netflix.
The Avengers and their allies mt be willing to sacrifice all in an attempt to defeat the powerful Thanos before his blitz of devastation and ruin puts an end to the universe.
